Never before has Siloam’s newsletter featured a group of people in such a way but we found this opportunity too exciting to pass up! This dynamic team of Diabetic Educator, Nurse Practitioners, and Physicians serves by coordinating their schedules to ensure coverage every Tuesday evening for our patients. We are seeing better management of our patients’ diabetes as well as continuity of care. Hats off to our Endo Team for their creativity and generosity which is providing a practical solution to the needs of so many.

We asked, “What keeps you coming back to Siloam?” In their own words

“It just plain feels good.  The rewards, challenges and frustrations are different.  In some ways the patients at Siloam are similar to (our) clinic patients-they struggle with issues related to food (they get too much), physical activity (they get too little) and medication (nobody wants to take insulin).  But, patients at Siloam have the added burden of issues related to their refugee and/or indigent status.  Most importantly, I love joining in the prayer circle before starting to see patients - it really gets me in what I perceive to be the ideal state of mind to provide competent, thoughtful and compassionate healthcare.”
