What brought you to Siloam?

“I had just spoken with Eva about my calling to medical missions and particularly to an international community. I was tired of putting off God’s call on my life…the time is now…no more excuses. I am going to pursue serving the poor, the uninsured, and addressing the needs of the growing Hispanic community,” Dr. Barden says. “The very next day I read the article in The Tennessean about the needs at Siloam and I knew that this was where God was leading me to serve-I had never even heard of Siloam.”

Eva chimes in, “I thought, ‘Wow!’-we may look all over Nashville for a place to serve, but it took God to show us where!” Eva goes on, “I questioned what could I do? I am not a doctor. But God can use me to clean toilets, to dust, and to love people.”

What keeps you coming back?

“We know that we are serving God through providing love and help. We appreciate the gratitude of these special patients that you do not feel elsewhere. We feel an anointing on this place.”
