Jose Luis Ayala is one of the founders and the President of Las Palmas Mexican Restaurante.

Jose Luis came to the United States with just $500 in his pocket and a job at a tortilla factory in Atlanta, Georgia. While there, he also began working at a Mexican restaurant, where we would spend 10 years saving money and preparing to launch his career as a restauranteur.

Jose Luis made his way to Nashville in 1985 and in 1990 he opened Las Palmas, passing out flyers and free tacos to get people in the door. In less than a year, the restaurant had loyal customers and new patrons enjoying traditional Mexican fare from Jose Luis’s native land.

Jose Luis now owns 9 Las Palmas locations in the middle Tennessee area and is proud to have created more than 200 jobs to help support the growing Nashville community.
