Nashville Soccer Club

Nashville Soccer Club is a team that enriches the city and brings diverse people together through the love of the world’s game. Since its founding as a Major League Soccer club in 2017, Nashville SC has played a role in making Music City a more welcoming place for immigrants and refugees.

Soccer helps life feel more normal for immigrants who have just arrived in the city, and Nashvillians from all over the world have rallied around the club to root for their favorite players, many of whom are fellow immigrants.

Nashville SC’s commitment to providing a sport and experience that builds connection among us all is due largely to the vision of majority owner John Ingram. As an avid sports enthusiast, he understands the power of sports to bring people of all backgrounds together and to build community. When he began to lead the initiative to bring Major League Soccer to Nashville, he had a vision for a team and an international sport that would unite all people across Middle Tennessee and be a team in Nashville, with Nashville, and for Nashville.

Today, Nashville SC intentionally brings immigrant communities together and celebrates them through the GEODIS Community Flag program and culturally diverse halftime performances. The motto “One Nashville Under Gold” is lived out through intentional efforts to highlight global aspects of the local community, bolstering the multinational fanbase.

Nashville SC prioritizes supporting the immigrant community through outreach efforts such as installing a community soccer pitch at Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition Center; and supporting Conexión Américas’ Young Latino Essay Contest and Catholic Charities of Tennessee’s refugee youth program.

Nashville SC has created a sense of welcome and belonging for Nashville’s immigrants, making them the 2024 Amplify Nashville Bridge Builders – the team that brings all Middle Tennesseans together.
